Advent Wreath Creations 🎀

3rd Dec 2025

This week, Year 4 have been exploring the meaning of Advent. Yesterday in class, the children learned all about the Advent wreath and its significance during the season of preparation for Christmas.

Today, they took their learning outdoors during Forest School, where creativity and nature came together! Using natural materials such as leaves, twigs and anything they could find around the forest area, the children designed and built their own Advent wreaths. Some even incorporated larger items like hula hoops and crates to form the base and candles of their wreaths.

To complete their designs, several pupils used chalk to draw the five candles that represent each Sunday of Advent, including the central candle for Christmas Day. It was wonderful to see their teamwork, imagination and understanding of this special tradition shine through in such a hands-on way.

Well done, Year 4 – your wreaths are a beautiful reminder of the season of hope and joy!
