This week in Nature Rangers, our Year 4 children enjoyed a lovely mix of creativity and outdoor exploration as they got into the festive spirit with some Christmas decorating.
The children brought in jam jars and carefully covered them with glue before rolling them in Epsom salts. This created a beautiful snowy effect, transforming the jars into wintery decorations. While waiting for the jars to dry, the children made the most of their time in the forest by exploring the area, playing games together, and climbing trees – embracing the true spirit of Nature Rangers.
Once the jars were ready, the children added greenery and twine around the top to decorate them, giving each jar its own unique, festive look. A candle can now be placed inside the jar to complete the decoration, creating a cosy Christmas lantern.
To finish the session, everyone enjoyed a well-earned treat of delicious hot chocolate topped with marshmallows, rounding off a fun, festive, and memorable Nature Rangers afternoon. ☕🍫🌲
