🎄Christmas Tree Festival🎄
Our Year 1 and 2 children have created a special Christmas tree for this year’s festival, inspired by the carol “O Little Town of Bethlehem.” The children designed and made the entire tree themselves, using cardboard and recyclable materials to reflect our school’s commitment to caring for the environment.
Each side of the tree shows a different part of the carol. We begin with the opening lyrics, then move to the story shown in handmade baubles. The children cut out, painted, and decorated each bauble to show the journey that leads us to the little town of Bethlehem.
Another side of the tree focuses on the line “the silent stars go by.” Here, the pupils created their own stars, each one individually designed and decorated to show the peaceful night sky over Bethlehem.
The star on top represents the guiding star from the carol, shining brightly above the scene. The green of the tree, painted by the children, symbolises hope, new life, and the message of love at the heart of Christmas. We are very proud of the children’s creativity and hope you enjoy their work.
