Knockmany Cup & Ellie Rogan Tournament

24th Jun 2022

Today our boys and girls travelled to Fr. Hackett Park, Augher as holders of both the Knockmany and Ellie Rogan cups.

The boys and girls had a great day of football and represented the school with great skills and a desire to win.

The boys started the day with a defeat but rallied the rest of the day to reach the final of the Cup where they were unfortunately beaten by a very strong St. Malachy's Glencull, the same team that beat them at the very start of the day.

The girls showed amazing determination, composure and skill and once again took the Ellie Rogan Cup back to St. Patrick’s in Eskra. They were involved in some very close games where they managed to come out on top. This is an unbelievable achievement and something that will always be remembered. Pupils are to be commended, not only on their football skills, but their determination, commitment, sportsmanship and exemplary behaviour throughout the tournament. A special Thank You to Mr. Meenagh for preparing the children and for his guidance and encouragement throughout and to Mrs. Deirdre McCarroll for coaching the Girls’ Team on Friday.

Thanks to Mrs. Gemma Quinn and Staff at St. Patrick’s P.S., Aughadarragh and to everyone involved for the great day of football and for inviting us along to compete in what is a great primary school competition. This completed the primary school football season and one that can be considered a success for all at Patrick’s P.S.,  Eskra. The children have received 3 cups in recognition their efforts this year!

We are extremely proud of all our children and their sporting achievements and we look forward to future events and competitions.
