Outdoor Bar Charts 📊

During Forest School, Year 4 took their maths learning outdoors! The children explored the area to collect natural materials such as leaves, sticks, stones, pinecones, and petals. Once their items were gathered, they worked together to sort and group them into categories.

Using their findings, the children created a data table to record how many of each type of material they had collected. Then, using sticks and chalk or string, they built and drew their very own bar charts outdoors to show their results. They focused carefully on choosing a sensible scale for their axes and making sure their bars were even and accurate.
