P3 enjoyed an exciting start to Nature Rangers. The children practised using flint and steel to create sparks, learning how these tools can be used to help start a fire safely with adult support. They also planted sunflower seeds, carefully placing them in the soil and discussing what plants need in order to grow. As the seeds have only just been planted, the children are looking forward to watching them grow over the coming weeks. One of the highlights of the session was making tasty s’mores around the fire, where everyone toasted marshmallows and worked together to build their treats. The group also spent time exploring the outdoor area, looking for signs of early spring and using their curiosity to investigate the natural environment. It was a lovely first session that encouraged teamwork, confidence, and excitement for the nature adventures still to come this term. 🌱🔥
