After the snow had fallen and the frost had covered everything, we went on an exciting hunt to find the remaining ice! We searched carefully and discovered thin sheets of ice hidden through the grass and a large piece of ice in the water play area outside the mobile classroom.
The big chunk of ice sparked a great discussion! We talked about what we had seen on the roads recently – the gritters spreading salt to make the roads safe. We learned that salt helps melt ice, so we decided to try it ourselves.
We sprinkled salt on the ice and watched closely as it slowly turned into a puddle of water. It was amazing to see science in action right before our eyes! 🌟
