Year 4 Nature Rangers Week Two ☕️🪹

20th Nov 2025

Our Year 4 Nature Rangers have had an exciting and busy couple of weeks exploring the wildlife around us. Last week, the children became nature detectives as they ventured outdoors to spot different types of animal homes. From hidden bird nests to cosy squirrel dreys, they observed how animals use natural materials to keep themselves safe and warm.

This week, the children put their knowledge into action by creating their very own animal homes. Using sticks, leaves, moss, and other natural resources, they worked together to build impressive structures inspired by what they had discovered. We had everything from carefully woven bird nests to sturdy squirrel dreys – and many more imaginative creations!

After all their hard work (and lots of fun in the icy, snowy conditions!), everyone gathered round to light the Kelly kettle. The warm hot chocolate and toasted marshmallows were the perfect treat to finish off a brilliant outdoor adventure.

Well done, Nature Rangers – we can’t wait to see what you get up to next!
