Year 4 Nature Rangers - Week Two
Today, the Year 4 Nature Rangers enjoyed a magical and imaginative session inspired by the book How to Catch a Leprechaun. The children were instantly captivated by the lively, rhyming story and enthusiastically joined in, calling out the next rhyming words as we read together. Their excitement and engagement brought the story to life.
After reading, we discussed how we might create our own leprechaun traps using natural materials. The children shared ideas, planned as teams, and worked together to design clever, creative, and cunning traps. Using sticks, leaves, stones, and other natural objects, each group built a unique design in the hope of catching a mischievous leprechaun.
Once their traps were complete, everyone enjoyed a cosy break with hot chocolate and marshmallows. When the children returned to check their traps, they were thrilled to discover that although the leprechaun had escaped, he had left behind golden coins as a special treat for everyone!
It was a wonderful session filled with imagination, teamwork, and outdoor adventure. The children had a fantastic time and should be very proud of their creativity.
