Year 4 Nature Rangers Week Three 🍫
During our Nature Rangers session, Year 4 learned how to safely use a Kelly kettle to boil water outdoors. We talked about fire safety and the importance of following instructions carefully when working around an open flame.
Working together, the children helped to gather kindling and twigs before using the Kelly kettle to boil water. Everyone was fascinated watching the steam rise and learning how the kettle works using heat from a small fire inside its base.
Once the water was ready, we used it to make a delicious treat — hot chocolate with marshmallows! The children really enjoyed sipping their warm drinks while sitting outdoors, surrounded by nature.
